Ok, so here I am!  What to say ?  Have never been involved with a blog before, except to read other's, which truthfully didn't help me at all with this...LOL.

Guess I will start with who I am and what I do.  My name is Diane Pietrocola, born and raised in Buffalo, NY, I spent most of my adult life living in California then Las Vegas......wow you must be thinking...(HINT)....don't live in Vegas if you like to gamble....ha ha............back in the burbs of Buffalo and happy to be here.

I make miniature porcelain dolls, from scratch.  No shortcuts here.  I pour the molds, clean the greenware, fire the kiln, clean the dolls up then go on to the painting.  Next comes "who do you want to be little doll".....they definately tell me so I just take the hint from them, remember, these little one's are only 6" tall,  the tallest, being a man. Women are approximately 5 1/2" tall, children vary in height.

Although my love of miniature dolls stays true and strong, I am looking forward to completing my first full polymer clay sculpture.  This could be next year sometime, LOL....however, I am plugging along and loving every frustrating minute of it, I am learning by my mistakes, as I am self-taught in all phases of my art which also includes portrait and landscape oil painting.  My greatest "hit" was painting "Stairway To Heaven" for my son Dan, which was sadly stolen from him.  Maybe one day I will do another.
